Common Questions

How are prayer times calculated?+
Our prayer times are calculated using the Muslim World League method, based on the geographic coordinates of our mosque. Solar angles determine Fajr (18° below horizon) and Isha (17° below horizon).
Why are iqamah times different to adhan?+
The gap between adhan and iqamah allows worshippers time to complete their wudhu, travel to the mosque, and prepare for congregation. The iqamah marks the actual start of the congregational prayer.
What if I miss a prayer at the mosque?+
There is no need to worry — you can pray at home or wherever you are. The obligation is to pray within the prayer's time window. If you miss a prayer entirely, it should be made up (qadha) as soon as possible.
Are there separate prayer facilities for sisters?+
Yes. Darussalam has a dedicated Sisters' Prayer Hall with a capacity of 400, with separate entrance and wudhu facilities. All sisters' areas are maintained and managed by our female staff.
Is there a wudhu (ablution) area available?+
We have fully equipped wudhu facilities for both brothers and sisters, with designated foot-washing basins. The facilities are open from Fajr until after Isha each day.
Where can I park?+
Limited street parking is available on surrounding roads. We encourage worshippers to use public transport where possible, particularly for Jumu'ah when the mosque is at capacity. A drop-off zone is available at the main entrance.
